10 month old baby dies in Point Fortin

A 10 month old baby girl has died at her Point Door Road, Point Ligor home. Annie Cudjoe had reportedly been playing with her 10 year old brother at approximately 5:15pm on Thursday when their heads clashed. The child fell into an unconscious state and was rushed to the Point Fortin District Hospital. She was then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital but died before arriving at the institution. A post mortem is expected to be done on the toddler’s body to confirm the cause of death. Riot on board prison van

A riot erupted on board a prison’s van on Friday , after 100 or so prisoners were ordered to be taken back to the Remand yard without appearing before the Magistrate. A 48 year old man of La Brea was shot and wounded on Thursday. Vincent Anthony told police he was walking close to his home at approximately 2.15pm when he saw a man he knew. He said the man who was armed fired several shots at him, hitting him on the left side abdomen and on his right thigh The labourer of Freehand in La Brea was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. The gunman escaped on foot. Anthony was unable to explain the cause of the incident.
