Anti-smelter activist, Wayne Kooblasingh, is glad Prime Minister Patrick Manning brought the issue of cost for the construction of the Alutrint Aluminum Smelter Plant to the forefront.

Mr. Kooblasingh claims it’s been years they’ve been calling for the government to make public the cost of this project.

While Prime Minister Manning still couldn’t disclose the monies spent on the smelter and the power plant thus far.

Mr. Kooblasingh maintains the project is bogus and there’s no real economic benefit for the citizenry of this country.

Mr Kooblasingh holds the view Prime Minister Manning’s comments was wrong stating if the project was to stop it would result in high cost.

In fact he feels the Prime Minister may be suggesting to the courts to take that aspect into future considerations.
