The Laventille Drug Abuse Demand Reduction Committee and the protective services are facilitating a youth camp for seventy five children, from Beetham Estate, Morvant and Laventille, between the ages of 15 to 17.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Gilbert Reyes revealed this at a weekly press briefing at the Police Administration building yesterday.

The camp, with the theme, “moulding young minds/making a difference runs from August 6 to 24.

Children will be exposed to conflict resolution and anger management, computer literacy, and the importance of team work, during the four weeks of training.

ACP Reyes added that this initiative will allow children an alternative to a life of crime.

Officers from the defence force, prisons and fire service, will assist in training sessions that will be conducted from 8:30 am to 4 pm daily, at the Laventille Youth Facility.
