Morvant Residents say waters rose to as much as 4 feet high… flooding out homes and even pushing cars from the roadway and into drains.

At least 3 vehicles were swept away.

After waters subsided the area was covered under debris and slush making roads impassable.

The Fire Service confirms receiving several distress calls along the east west corridor including, Petit Valley, Cascade, St Ann’s Belmont and Laventille of fallen trees, collapse houses and landslides.

It’s reported a 3 year old girl …from Ariapita road St. Ann’s …had to be rescued by the fire service …after a house fell … burying her under mud and slush.

Two cars also fell off the lady young road because of landslips.

The Morvant Anglican School was also under heavy flood waters and students were forced to scamper to safety.

President of the school’s Parent Teachers Association Salina Mohammed says the school was flooded out on Monday …but yesterday’s flooding was far worst.

Areas of South Quay…lower Independence Square …and City Gate were also under flood waters …

Hundreds of pedestrians were reportedly forced to find new routes toward City Gate …as they tried to make their way home
