The severe flooding experienced in several parts of the country is the main factor cited by the government for the postponement of its planned retreat.
It was originally scheduled for the Petrotrin compound in Point-e- Pierre this weekend.
A review of the government’s performance in office was the main agenda of the retreat.
However, Information Minister, Neil Parsanlal says there was been a change in plans.
Minister Parsanlal reveals after extensive discussion by the cabinet a decision was taken to postpone the retreat to a date to be fixed.
He indicated the emphasis would be placed on helping residents in the various constituencies who were affected by the recent flooding.
Speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing at the Prime Minister’s Office in St Clair this afternoon,
Minister Parsanlal confirmed the retreat is still on the card but for a later time in the future.
