Its not black mail, it’s workers fighting for what they rightly deserve.
This is the Trade Unions response to the Prime Minister comments on settling outstanding negotiations for improved terms and conditions before the General Election.
Speaking at a news briefing at the Trinidad Hilton yesterday, Prime Minister Patrick Manning said the trade unions are using the wrong approach.
He warned his government would not be pressured into meeting their demands.
However, President of the Oilfield Workers Trade Union Errol McLeod says the Prime Minister is wrong in his assessment of the position taken by the trade unions.
He says workers are seriously considering the Prime Minister’s statement and would not give up in their struggle for improved conditions.
