Congress of the People’s candidate for San Fernando East – Mervyn Assam is describing as a bunch of non-entities, the slate of candidates chosen by Prime Minister Manning for the upcoming general election.

Mr. Assam made the comment in San Fernando last evening as he addressed supporters gathered at Harris promenade.

Describing the criteria which candidates should possess, Mr. Assam says it appears that Mr. Manning has ulterior motives in the selection of PNM candidates.

Mr. Assam also took issue with Minister in the Ministry of Finance – Christine Sahadeo, who he says accuses him of not being a man of the people.
