Investigations continue into the discovery of a partially burnt body in an abandoned cane field in central Trinidad
The body… that of a man… was discovered yesterday afternoon.
Acting on information, a party of police from the Freeport and Chaguanas stations visited the crime scene along the Waterloo Road, around 5.45 pm.
Police discovered the body of a man of African descent lying in a field of burnt cane, near the Waterloo cremation site and public cemetery, a short distance from the road.
Police believe the body was dumped within 48 hours prior to its discovery, and the abandoned cane field was burnt in a bid to destroy the corpse and any evidence.
