President of the Inter-Religious Organisation Pundit Mukram Sirjoo is again expressing concern over the lyrical content of carnival songs.

Speaking to News Power this morning, he urged artistes to be aware that words inherently influence people’s behaviour.

While praising Junior Calypso Monarch Megan Waldron for lyrical content, other such as Michael “Sugar Aloes” Osuna weren’t as fortunate.

On the issue of revealing carnival costumes, Pundit Sirjoo says it’s up to the designers to protect the dignity of masquerades.
