Police are yet to ascertain the cause of fire that destroyed a house in Siparia.

According to reports around 8:20 pm yesterday 26 year-old Akeem Montano and his common law wife from Caura Road in Siparia secured his home and went to visit a friend in the area.

Within half an hour he received a call from a friend telling him his house is on fire.

He telephoned the Siparia fire service but by the time he arrived it was completely destroyed by fire.

Montano estimates his losses to be in excess of 100 hundred thousand dollars.
