Family, friends and well-wishers continue to flock the St Augustine home of Kewal “DJ Lalo” Ragbir as plans to celebrate’s 50th birthday with a five nights Ramayan are replaced by funeral arrangements

The popular DJ died yesterday following a 3 car smash up on the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway.

According to police occurred around 12.10 p.m.

49 year old Jacqueline Lewis of Basilon Street, East Dry River, Port of Spain also died following the accident

Police say Lewis and her family were heading to the Piarco International Airport to pick up relatives.

Behind them was a silver coloured Mazda 323 driven by Nancy Stevenson.

According to the police, while Stevenson lost control of her car while attempting to overtake and ran into the back of the Nissan, causing that vehicle to spin out of control.

The Nissan, which was in the right lane, slammed into the highway's median, knocked over a small tree and ran into Ragbir's three tonne truck, which was heading west.

After being hit, Ragbir too lost control and knocked over a lamp post located in the median and crossed over into the east bound lane.

Stevenson was injured in the accident

Ragbir’s musical career began when he attended a graduation at Lakshmi Girls’ High School, St Augustine.

He had hooked up two speakers to a fence. The effect was awesome. The rest was history.

Since then, his sound system has been heard at events ranging from school parties to political meetings.

He leaves to mourn his wife Ome, and three daughters—Nisha, Ornella and Laura
