The hunt is on for a 19-year-old prisoner who escaped legal custody yesterday evening

Officers in Tobago say Ronaldo George made broke free while being escorted to the prison van at the Scarborough Magistrates' Court between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

According to reports, George, , pushed down a police officer and made his escape on foot.

He was not handcuffed

According to a senior police source, George had earlier appeared before a magistrate charged with several offences ranging from house breaking and larceny and robbery with violence.

He was scheduled to reappear in March for sentencing
