Police officers in East Trinidad were kept busy yesterday as they continued investigations into 2 robberies
A 19 year old Sangre Grande Mason and a 48 year old builder of Arima were the victims of the separate crimes…which left one man hospitalised
The first incident occurred in broad daylight Police say around 11.45 am 19 year old Evan Ralph, of Cold Mine Road in Sangre Grande was walking along Lopinot road, Arouca …heading towards Bon Aire West
Ralph, a mason, was approached by a man in a white car…who stopped alongside him
The man, who was armed with a gun, fired several shots
Ralph was hit in the left leg. He was robbed of 850 dollars in cash
The assailant then drove away
The injured man was taken to Arima Health facility for treatment and then transferred to the Mt Hope Hospital
He is warded in a stable condition
Constable Diamond of the Arima CID is investigating
And hours later, at approximately 7.50 last evening, Egland Williams, of Pinto Road Arima, had just arrived at his home and was about to open his gate
As he exited his grey Lancer motor car registration…PCB 608…he was attacked by 2 armed men who announced a hold up
The men ordered the 48 year old builder to hand over the keys to his car
They then drove off in the vehicle, valued at 75 thousand dollars
Arima police are investigating
