A 27 year old man has been arrested by Police following the discovery of marijuana in his possession

At approximately 9:30 last evening, officers of the North Divison Task Force were on mobile patrol along the Eastern main Road in Arouca

Officers say they noticed the man, of Bertie Road, Five Rivers, in a white Mazda 323 motor car

The car was searched, and officers say they found approximately 1 kilogramme of marijuana

The drug was wrapped in 45 transparent bags

The man was taken to the Arouca Police Station where he was charged with the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking
