Deepening diplomatic ties is one of the reasons for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, paying an official visit to this country from the 4th to the 6th March.
Their visit is on the invitation of Prime Minister Patrick Manning.
The visit is one of many by members of the British Royal family to Trinidad and Tobago.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second and his Royal Highness Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh paid a state visit to this country in November 1985.
The Prince of Wales last visited in the 2000.
Foreign Affairs Minister Paula Gopee Scoon says the visit would boost relations between the United Kingdom and this country.
The Royals would also visit St Lucia, Jamaica and Montserrat.
