Ex president of the Supermarkets Association, Balliram Maharaj, seems unimpressed by what has been said by the Minister

Maharaj said news reports clearly point out that the world is crying out about a rice and wheat crisis.

He added the country is facing a serious food shortage and agricultural production must be fast tracked.

And President of the Downtown Owners and Merchants Association, Gregory Aboud, said while this country may not be experiencing a food crisis, more should be done to ensure that it does not take place.
