Local Government Minister Hazel Manning has admitted the municipal corporations are failing in their duties.

She made this point in response to questioning over the distribution of state funds to repair wooden bridges across the country.

Mrs. Manning says Government intends to convert all 476 wooden bridges in T&T into concrete structures.

She adds this process will be complete by 2013.

Minister Manning explains such projects are spearheaded by municipal corporations but admits, these bodies have not effectively dealt with the situation.
