Over the last 2 years, the state has paid over half a million dollars to private health institutions according to Health Minister Jerry Narace.

Speaking in the House of Representatives recently, Minister Narace said the monies were spent to take of care patients who could not be facilitated at public hospitals.

He also gave an insight of the various Regional Health Authorities which have been paying for private health care on behalf of patients.
