Congress of the People Shadow Minister for Justice and Legal Affairs, Anand Ramlogan, said the appointment of James Philbert to act Police Commissioner over Stephen Williams, after the PSC recommended Williams as it choice for the top post is illogical and irrational.
The Congress of the People feels the appointment of Philbert, to act as Police Commissioner, would only fuel suspicions about political interference in the operations of the Police Service Commission.
Ramlogan said he does not have an issue with Mr Philbert but is concerned about the direction the process is heading.
