The Police Service Commission is expected to respond today to claims that the body is no longer independent.

At the weekend …former PSC Chairman Kenneth Lalla …said the PSC was no longer independent because it bypassed Stephen Williams…who was its first choice for the post of Police Commissioner

Instead it appointed its second choice… James Philbert.

The acting appointment was made in the wake of Police Commissioner Trevor Paul decision to quit…months before the end of his one-year extension in November.
