Two women were robbed this morning while walking along Charlotte Street, Port of Spain.

Around 11 o clock a woman was robbed of her gold chain while another was robbed of her cell phone.

Despite the presence of police officers in the vicinity, both women were robbed just two minutes apart.

The young men who committed the crimes escaped on foot unto Duke Street as stunned passersby and the victims looked helplessly to the police.

Less than two weeks ago National Security Minister Martin Joseph, hauled officers on leave back out on the job.

The Minister said the increase in the presence of police officers especially on foot patrol would assist in reducing crime.
