Minister of Health John Rahael, is avoiding discussions about the dismissal of sixteen young doctors on Friday.
This was said by President of the Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association Dr. Balkaran Ramkissoon earlier today.
Ramkisson was one of five senior doctors, who yesterday called on Rahael to say why the Port of Spain General Hospital medics were fired without reason.
The doctors recently completed their internship programmes and had been working for a month.
While Ramkissoon could not assume the motive behind the dismissal, he notes there are too many similarities between events at the Port of Spain and San Fernando hospitals.
The senior doctor laments the instability of the medical profession and chastises Rahael for ignoring their concerns.
Ramkissoon is optimistic that the press conference held yesterday, would provoke an explanation.
Repeated attempts to contact the Minster, were unsuccessful.
