A Manzanilla man, who allegedly told Police he needed to arm himself while visiting his girlfriend, has been charged with possession of arms and ammunition.
The twenty-seven year old suspect is to appear before a Sangre Grande magistrate today.
Around 11:00 pm last night, detectives from Grande CID were on mobile patrol when they observed a man acting suspiciously.
Inspector Fermin Roy and Detectives Baboolal and Khan, stopped the man’s vehicle and found a .38 pistol with five rounds of live ammunition.
The man was subsequently charged.
According to Inspector Roy, this is the third gun to be seized over the last week in the Grande area.
