President of the Downtown Owners and Merchants Association Gregory Aboud, says police officers are allowing lawlessness to prevail in down town Port of Spain.
This is in response to the most recent burglary that occurred yesterday morning.
According to a press release, thieves used sledge hammers to break into a rooftop wall at Time Plaza around 2:15.
Speaking to News Power earlier, Aboud expressed his dismay over persons who are being left to roam the streets at nights.
He noted that eight buildings have been burglarised in the past eight weeks and that this was Time Plaza’s second hit.
The DOMA President attributed low morale and poor management to the officers’ unwillingness to uphold their duty.
While Aboud is trying to remain patient, he insists the matter needs to be addressed immediately.
