The judiciary firmly denies that any meetings took place with any intention of constitutional reform between the Attorney General Bridgid Annisette George and Chief Justice Ivor Archie.
It maintains the Chief Justice has not been holding any secret talks with the Attorney General, nor has he had several meetings with any small table committee on constitutional reform as reported in the media last Friday.
However, a release indicates the CJ and AG had scheduled a preliminary meeting upon the invitation of the Executive, as part of a process of consultation it had embarked upon regarding constitutional reform.
The statement adds the chief justice had a small committee of judges nominated by him held a meeting with the Attorney General and two members of a subcommittee appointed by the Government.
