Will spiraling food prices reach the point of no return???

Yesterday the country learnt egg prices had again increased…this time by 8 cents.

This announcement was made by The Association of Trinidad and Tobago Table Egg Producers.

The increase is being blamed on feed prices …which continue to rise.

Consumers were told one dozen eggs will cost within the range of $11.45 to $13.

On Monday … a scientist attached to the Caribbean Center for Climate Change told Caribbean Governments to end their pre-occupation with finding cheaper food

Dr. Ulric Trotz… said instead Caribbean leaders should concern themselves with food availability.

At the time he was speaking on the Effects of climate change on Agriculture…at a seminar held at the Crowne Plaza hotel

He emphasised it was critical Governments change methodologies …as low income earners were really the ones who suffered from spiraling food prices
