Trinidad and Tobago nationals are still reeling over high inflation levels…it’s currently at 11.3 percent

But Finance Minister Karen Nunez Tesheira assures there is no reason for excessive worry over the matter

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Programme this morning Minister Tesheira explains many people really do not understand the dynamics of the issue

And she says that misunderstanding is really the root of never-ending and uncalled for condemnation of the Government

And Minister Nunez Tesheira says consumers must understand they have a lot of power …

This as she admits…the current food situation in the country really is the driver of inflation

The Minister says there have been many complaints that taxes levied on businessmen are passed on to the consumer…

But she says the country must understand in a market economy such as ours... it’s considered “economy suicide” to even consider implementing price controls
