Make-Your-Mark Voter Campaign

Youths have lost faith in the electorate system and are clamouring for change.

So said Mobilisation Officer Lue Anda Francis as she discussed the ‘Make your Mark Youth Voter Campaign,’ that was established to inspire youths to exercise their civic duty.

It is a non-partisan programme by the Network of NGOs of Trinidad and Tobago for the Advancement of Women and runs from August

The company is looking for young trainees to go out and encourage their peers to vote and participate in discussions of national concern.

Francis noted that crime, teenage pregnancy and job security are issues of main concern to youths.

However, she insisted they usually feel neglected and disconnected from the electoral process.

Francis was certain this initiative would encourage more youths and people in general, to recognise the importance
