An American woman was maliciously beaten and sexually assaulted at her home in Sangre Chikito, in Sangre Grande today.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 am, when the woman was just finished having a shower in her outside bathroom, when two men pounced on her.

A sheet was thrown over her head, where she was taken into her house, beaten badly, and sexually assaulted.

After the ordeal, she was tied up and the two men fled.

However, soon after she managed to escape, and made a report to the Sangre Grande Police.

She is currently warded at Hospital in a stable condition.
